Persist in walking the right road and a bright future is assured!

I come from a family of farmers in a rural village of Taiwan’s Liugdui region. Ever since childhood, I saw bananas turn into compost and peasants labor under the burning sun, struggling to survive in an oppressive society. I began to participate in social movements to fight against injustice.I joined the Meinung Anti-Dam movement to protect my homeland and save the precious ecosystem.I became a Hakka activist to preserve my mother tongue, revitalize my people’s land, and enable future Hakka generations to live with pride and confidence.

Full of faith and determination, I persist in walking the right road and finding ways to help the Hakka, all citizens, and the land, from the grassroots and neighborhoods to government institutions—rather than just passing down culture, we should strive to make culture stronger and push it forward.

I view my mother tongue as an irreplaceable emotional bond between me, my family, and the land. I feel at home whenever I speak Hakka.I seem to embody countless generations of ancestors when I speak Hakka.I listen to someone speaking Hakka and I know we are one.

I am incredibly honored to shoulder such crucial task at this moment in history. Reinvigorating the Hakka language, passing it down, and promoting it—this matter is first and foremost. Hakka language is the wellspring of our people and culture. I hereby invite all of my Hakka brothers and sisters to do their part, join hands, and fight for our language. Persist in walking the right road and a bright future is assured!
