Minister Gu explained that policy development will focus on two major axes: 1) supporting residents of Hakka villages in leading fulfilling lives, and 2) building environments that foster speaking of the Hakka, so more people come into contact with Hakka and learn more about Hakka culture. This not only aligns with President Lai Ching-te's chief Hakka policy of "Public Hakka", but also facilitates mutual understanding between ethnic groups. It is also hoped that in the future, even more government institutions will join the drive to translate public services into Hakka.
Centered on "Sustainability, Innovation, Sharing, and Mutual Benefit", Minister Gu described existing policies and future prospects. At the same time, in response to President Lai's Six Hakka Arrows policy, HAC will oversee the construction of Everyday Exchange Centers in Hakka villages, re-launch of the Hakka Village Placemaking Relocation Program, planning of "Hakka coins", promotion of the brand Ha-Food and cultivation of relevant talents to join global competitions, and arrangements for youths to carry out volunteer work at Ba-Gung Care Stations. Moreover, HAC will establish the Hakka Youth Advisory Committee to hear young people's voices and inject vitality as we set sail on the "Hakka Blue Ocean".
Also, to address changes in the domestic and global situation as well as meet national development needs, President Lai revealed the "National Project of Hope" and its 8 major policy goals. HAC is particularly responsible for the policy of "Advancing Towards a Diverse, Equitable Society of Mutual Prosperity", which includes schemes for Hakka people and other ethnic groups. Hakka affairs will be implemented mainly from 7 key tasks: promoting widespread access to public services in the Hakka, shining the international spotlight on Hakka culture and individuals, building the brand Ha-Food, expanding public participation by Hakka youth, broadening Hakka village placemaking projects, bolstering and expanding Ba-Gung Care Stations, and continuing to implement the Hakka Regions Development Plan.
