Minister Gu opened the event by sharing with attendants her activism journey ever since she joined the Meinung Anti-Dam movement in her youth. She especially pointed out she always begins by working from the grassroots at localities, so mutual exchanges and experience sharing can enable her to gain a deep understanding of young people’s ideas and include their views in future making of key policies.
In response to the precious opinions and viewpoints shared by every participant, Minister Gu replied that HAC attaches great importance to the issues discussed. Everyone is encouraged to join in the conversation and find solutions and practical strategies together to deal with current problems. The forum and future focus group discussions are hoped to yield feasible methods to move towards our goals in the future. The outcomes of the forum will serve as a mutual support network that will better enable policies to satisfy everyone’s expectations.
